Maria-Rodica Gurau is a lecturer, DVM, PhD at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Agronomic Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Bucharest, Romania. She has didactic activity and research in the field of infectious diseases and preventive medicine as well as in the field of molecular biology diagnostic.

In the last few years, she was involved in research projects with topics in the detection and identification of viral and bacterial agents transmitted by ticks and the analysis of the variability of the prion protein gene (PRNP) in goat breeds from Romania.
