Tijs Tobias

Veterinarian and Epidemiologist

Dr Tobias is a veterinarian and epidemiologist by training and has obtained a PhD from Utrecht University studying the transmission of Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae in pigs. Dr Tobias is currently an Associate researcher at Utrecht University, seconded by Royal GD (Deventer). At Royal GD Dr Tobias is involved in monitoring pig health in the Netherlands and contributing to applied research projects in pigs. Dr. Tobias’ mission is to enhance science and teach students about infectious disease in pigs. Finally, Dr Tobias is chair of the Dutch thinktank on pig health matters (Royal Netherlands Veterinary Association) and he is a member of the Welfare committee on Notifiable Diseases, appointed by the Dutch minister of Agriculture.
